Special: Celebrate the Anniversary of Handel’s Messiah

Enjoy one of our very special annual walks in celebration of the premiere of George Frideric Handel’s hugely popular oratorio Messiah which took place in Dublin on 13 April 1742.
Our really unique tour will take in many of the major places connected with Handel's stay in Dublin during 1741/42 and hear the stories of the amazing first performance of his masterpiece. Extracts from his memorable works, and those of his contemporaries who also visited Dublin, will be heard along the way. Our walk, filled with surprising tit bits of information, will finish in good time to attend the very special live performance of Messiah extracts which takes place at 1.00pm outside the site of its first airing 277 years ago.

On a Pat Liddy Walking tour, you will also receive a free visitor map and guide and discounts in Dublin’s oldest café, Bewley’s, in the Church Bar/Café and at the EPIC Emigration Museum.
