Dublin is renowned as an UNESCO City of Literature and this informative tour, conducted as part of the Dublin Book Festival, explores the lives and works of many of the city’s famous writers, from playwrights to the gothic horror writers. Starting off in the historic surrounds of Dublin Castle, join Pat Liddy or one of his expert guides on a tour of the city to learn about some of the most famous writers associated with Dublin, from the 18th century to today. You will pass by iconic places including the Chester Beatty Library, St Patrick's Cathedral, Marsh’s Library and Fishamble Street. The walk takes place in the former medieval part of Dublin an area once famous for its theatres and publishing houses. We will encounter many of the places associated with these writers and will take an opportunity at most stops to read extracts from their works.
